I love the cold, but packing for winter is utterly infuriating. Worrying about surviving the sub-zeros isn’t helping either.

And what’s this with the articles about stuffing cotton wool into shoes for extra warmth?!? WTF.

Maybe staying in the tropics is better. NAH.

Of Back…

I’m Listening to:

Lady Gaga – No Way

Finally BACK from down under, it was kind of surreal in a way after so long. But strangely enough, the moment I stepped out of Changi,  the whining about the humidity and the heat started. Oh well.

But it sure is nice to be back in SG where a can of coke is freaking $0.80 and where food is served in un-gargantuan, fitting-for-us-tiny-asians proportions.

I didn’t want to bring my LX3 baby to Wallaby, so I don’t have any pictures, but I will get my hands on some soon!

Have to rush a get a TON of things done before BEIJING, so I’m going to be one busy busy bumblebee for these three days. You’ll probably catch me rushing about doing:

a) Last minute Long-John shopping (WTF, my old ones barely fit, they felt like speedos) ,

b) Filling out forms at the SGX building,

c) At home trying on outfits and then packing-unpacking-packing my luggage again

d) Stuffing my face with Laksa/Prata/Chicken Rice/Nasi Lemak/Teh Peng/Mee Goreng/…..

e) Being auntie picking out wet tissues, tissue paper and medicine at Guardian

f) Some other random but nonetheless important activity.

If, I don’t cough my lungs out first…

The Wallaby Journals

Day 2 – 20 Oct 2009

I think I am now fully able to relate to Genghis Khan – (Ok, maybe less the smelly breath, knowing how to ride a horse and savage instinct, but nonetheless). Lying in ‘bed’ last night, I felt part of some documentary on Discovery Channel about nomads. That being said, camp isn’t as bad as I has pictured ( YET ). It’s very communal in design – it feels very kampong-ish ( well, at least how I imagine a kampong to be ).

The night sky is beautiful though picturesque even, seemingly ideal for the tasks I set for myself to accomplish here. As of now, one of that dust trail still remains as Wallaby’s most iconic imagery.

More juicy stuff soon.

The kangaroos say HI!!!!

Call me neanderthal but it’s my virgin experience updating via mobile. And it’s an itouch at that. I shall reserve my comments.

In other news, we are counting now to R and R, 2 more days baby!

Can’t wait. Have finished The Great Gataby, and Banker to the poor. Very proud for keeping myself occupied, at least I managed to spend my time effectively.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MR SITU who turns 21 today ( I wonder when you’ll see this though.)

Looking forward to Sg, Beijing and then Hong Kong!
